La journée de l’enfant Africain célébrée en solidarité avec des enfants vulnérables dans un orphelinat à MUGUNGA par L’AVSD et ses partenaires

C’est depuis 1991 que la journée de l’enfant Africain est célébrée par l’Organisation de l’Union Africaine en souvenir du massacre de centaines d’enfants lors d’une marche pour leurs droits à Soweto (Afrique du Sud) par le pouvoir del’apartheid le 16 Juin 1976. L’Action des Volontaires pour la Solidarité et le Développement en collaboration avec ses différents partenaires a pu se rendre dans un orphelinat situé à MUGUNGA, un quartier périphérique au Nord-Ouest de la ville de GOMA afin de remettre du sourire aux visages des enfants vulnérables qui en manquent-surement suite à leurs conditions sociales d’extrême pauvreté. Sensibiliser sur le Corona virus et les droits des enfants L’AVSD, à travers sa coordonnatrice, Mme Emmanuela VASIKYA a commencé par sensibiliser les occupants de l’orphelinat visité sur les pratiques essentielles afin de réduire et stopper la propagation de la pandémie du Corona Virus, en rappelant les gestes barrières et distribuer des cache-nez apportées pour cette fin. La journée du 16 juin ayant été essentiellement instaurée dans un contexte relatif aux droits de l’enfant africain, l’AVSD a tenu à rappeler l’obligation morale et légale des adultes à faire respecter ces droits mais également à enseigner aux enfants leurs devoirs vis-à-vis de la communauté tout entière. La division provinciale des affaires sociales, un partenaire de l’activité; a rappelé la volonté de l’Etat congolais à rendre effective le droit de l’enfant, étant donné que celui-ci (L’Etat Congolais) avait ratifié différents instrument internationaux sur les droits de l’enfant. La solidarité dans le partage et message d’espoir L’orphelinat visité héberge des enfants en situation d’extrême pauvreté, certains parmi ces enfants n’étudient pas et vivent avec certaines maladies. L’Action des Volontaires pour la Solidarité et le développement avec ses partenaires ont pu remettre des biens (des vivres et non-vivres) collectés auprès des différentes personnes de bonne volonté, un geste qui a surement mit du sourire aux visages des enfants de cet orphelinat en cette journée qui leur avait été dédiée. La célébration de la journée de l’enfant africain de ce 16 Juin 2020 s’en est allé en un message d’espoir. L’éducation étant l’un des domaines d’interventions de l’AVSD; une promesse a été faite, celle de renforcer les actions de plaidoyer afin que ces enfants de cet orphelinat qui n’étudient pas puissent également bénéficier d’une scolarisation de la part de l’AVSD et ses partenaires.
