En marge de la journée internationale de l’enfant Africain, l’Action des Volontaires pour la Solidarité et le Développement a pu parvenir à faire octroyer aux Enfants qui vivent avec leurs Mères dans la prison centrale de Goma des actes de naissances, ceci étant le fruit d’une étude faite en Mars 2019 portant sur:«Evaluation des conditions carcérales des Enfants en conflits avec la loi dans l’établissement de garde et d’éducation d’Enfant ainsi que les nourrissons vivant avec leurs mères en milieu carcéral». Au moment de cette étude, il a été révélé que 92 Enfants étaient en conflits avec la loi et incarcérés dans l’établissement de garde et d’éducation des Enfants de Goma; mais le constant amère était tel que ces enfants vivent dans une quasi absence des mesures d’accompagnement de protection pour Enfants en conflits avec la loi, mais également des cellules insuffisantes pour contenir ces enfants, des soins de santé inappropriés, un manque d’une alimentation régulière et adéquate, etc. Des nourrissons en prison par le simple fait que leurs mères y sont Ces enfants à l’état nourrisson se retrouvent en prison avec leurs mères étant donné que ces dernières sont condamnées pour une peine d’emprisonnement, mais le triste sort de ces enfants est tel qu’ils ne bénéficient point des traitements appropriés notamment une alimentation adéquate, des soins de santé appropriés, des conditions hygiéniques moins bonnes, avec comme conséquences; une mauvaise santé des bébés et un risque élevé d’attraper des infections à l’égard des ces femmes. L’étude faite a répertorié 21 enfants nourrissons vivants avec leurs mères en souffrance d’actes de naissances. Dans le souci de répondre de manière urgente à ce problème, l’AVSD, a amorcé une série d’activité avec comme objectif de relever dans la mesure du possible ce défis. Les jugements supplétifs ont finalement été rendus par l’Autorité judiciaire grâce au travail des Avocats de l’AVSD, lesquels jugements ont constitué des incontournables préalables pour l’acquisition des actes des naissances en faveur des ces enfants qui ne pouvaient pas les obtenir gratuitement car ayant déjà dépassé le délai légal soit 90 jours. Durant cette même journée, l’Action des Volontaires pour la Solidarité et le Développement a pu effectuer un acte caritatif en distribuant des vivres et non vivres en faveur des mères et leurs enfants au sein de la prison de Goma.
